Production certificate
The calf which goes to the slaughterhouse under the brand name Carn de Bovi del Grup de Vilarta meets the standards set for quality meat.
EICG (Entity d'Inspection i Certification Girona S.L.) certifies that the production process of meat produced under the brand name Carn de Bovi del Grup Vilarta, meets the following requirements:
- Animals fed on a basis of minimum 45% cereals and 10% of fibre-rich plants, at least during the last 4 months.
- Animals slaughtered at a maximum age of 14 months with small carcases at a maximum of 8 months
- Animals slaughtered at less than 12 months “Veal”
- Animals slaughtered at over 12 months “Young beef”
- Animals slaughtered at less than 8 months “Milk-fed veal”
